Welcome

FROM THE LA PAZ AIRPORT TO LA VENTANA:

1) Bear right coming out of the airport.
2) Turn right on HWY 1 towards La Paz.
3) Bear right at the WhaleTail / Dove of Peace Monument.
4) Turn right on Colosio, which turns into Route 286 after it crosses Forjadores (to S.J. de Los Planes).
5) Take Mex 286 completely out of town and into the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. Just keep going straight past the
junkyards just outside of town and head up the hill. Watch out for livestock on the highway and enjoy the scenery !!
6) When you crest the top of the mountain road, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view of La Ventana Bay, Isla
Cerralvo, and the Los Planes Valley.
7) It’s a straight shot for a few miles to the bottom of the valley, then go left at the turn to La Ventana and El Sargento.
It’s a nice paved road so you won’t miss it, but if you find yourself in the town of Los Planes, you missed it.
8) As you approach La Ventana you see the azure-blue water (and whitecaps if it’s afternoon) from the road on your right. Go straight past the little shacks on the right, and past the large white building and the large public campground on your right. Keep going straight, up the hill past the campground – now you’re in “The Heights.”
9) Captain Kirk’s entrance is on the right a ¼ mile or so past the campground at road marker KM 9. Look for a ranch- style entrance with a windsurfing board that has Capt. Kirk’s logo on it on right over the entrance.
