REDONDO "RAT"
BEACH
Intermediate / Advanced Spot
Open ocean, often with swells and therefore real (small to
medium sideonshore) waves, and wind-driven chop. Bottom slopes
down slowly, so you can walk out nearly a line-length before
getting in your straps. Watch out for swimmers and surfers.
Kite leashes must be attached to your body (no `grab` leashes)
whenever the kite is airborne.

No riding within 200 feet of shore, unless launching or landing
(when launching, go upwind and get 200 feet on as direct a
course as possible). No jumping or jibing within 200 feet
of shore. No jumping near any other watercraft. Allow enough
room to allow for any possible equipment failure. Stay completely
away from swimmers and surfers. Can be gusty close to shore,
so beginners should drive to Long Beach for safer conditions.
